A project by Raphaelo Siddons
The goal of this project was to analyse the language and vocabulary that has emerged due to the covid-19 pandemic. Specifically, to dive into the usage of this newfound language in a local Singaporean context. The transcripts of covid-19 press conferences were analysed for particular buzz-words and the data collected graphs the trend how of these words were used over a period of 10 months during 2021.
Data
A line graph was chosen to visualise the relationship between the 2 buzzwords chosen as well as observe how the usage of these words evolved over time. From the first usage of the words all the way to the eventual ending of its lifespan.
Artefact
An interactive sphere that is responsive to audio, keyboard and mouse scroll inputs. This visualisation is a creative take on how the language and words used can shape and create perceptions of the world around us.
